SUMMARY:The Good and Beautiful God: Falling in Love with the God Jesus Knows
DESCRIPTION:“God wants me to try harder.”\n“God blesses me when I’m good and punishes me when I’m bad.”\n“God is angry/disappointed with me.” \nWe all have ideas that we tell ourselves about God and how he works in our lives. Some are true\, but many are false. Looking at the Gospels (Matthew\, Mark\, Luke\, John)\, we can see if our beliefs match up with what Jesus himself reveals about God. \nTaught by Greg and Sherri Brown using the book The Good and Beautiful God: Falling in Love with the God Jesus Knows by James Bryant Smith\, this small group will explore those ideas and practice specific activities that will help you begin to live your life in the truth of who God is. \nEach week\, class members will discuss a chapter of the book (about 10-15 pages of reading a week) and spend time during the week practicing the assigned spiritual activity. \nYou will need a book for the class. Both new and used books are available through a variety of online sources. If you need assistance with a book order or have other questions\, contact the Church office at 706-882-2545. \nSign up for the class here. Class begins on Wednesday\, Sept. 6\, and will meet each Wednesday for 10 weeks. Childcare is provided for infants through kindergarten-age children. First through Fifth graders attend Pathfinders. Supper is provided for all children.

DESCRIPTION:You’ve been lied to about love…and it’s time to know the truth. \nPastor Jason will lead participants using Love Like You Mean It by Bob Lepine\, on this journey of redefining true love by walking through 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. The Love Like You Mean It study will empower couples to love each other the way God intended. \nEach week participants will watch a short video clip to prompt discussion and review the reading for the week. Look forward to the transformation of your marriage over ten weeks. The included assessment will help each couple to identify their own areas of strength and opportunities to grow. \nYou will need workbooks for this class. Please sign up for the class here using Sign Up Genius. We will get a head count and order workbooks all at once. The cost for a set of two workbooks for a couple is $15.
